December 19, 2024, marked an important milestone for Ukrainian athletics — the beginning of the new indoor season. The competition was held in an individual format, with the main distances being 300 meters, 600 meters, and the main event — 1 mile. This event paved the way for a vibrant and exciting sports year for Ukrainian athletes.
This competition served as the first step in preparation for the major events of the season, including international tournaments.
The festival brought together over 500 athletes from 14 regions of Ukraine at the Training and Sports Base of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The most anticipated race, the 1-mile event, thrilled spectators with its dramatic finishes in the junior categories:

This start is just the beginning of an exciting running season. Team Ukraine is actively preparing for upcoming competitions, culminating in the ACE Battle Mile (ABM) in London. The ABM's main event — the 1-mile races — will take place on March 8, 2025, and will be one of the toughest challenges for European runners. While the Europeans won’t back down, Ukraine is ready to deliver its best in the 2025 season!
